Carbon vs. Ceramic Window Tint
Both look great and block UV, but ceramic is the film we recommend: it rejects far more heat and stays clearer, which is what you notice every day behind the wheel. Here's how the two compare.

Window Tinting, answered.
How long does window tint take to install?
Most vehicles are completed in a few hours. We'll give you an exact timeframe when you book based on your vehicle and the number of windows being tinted.
What tint percentages are legal in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania allows any darkness on the rear window and back side windows, but front side windows must let more than 70% of light through (a 70% film is the common legal choice), and only the top strip of the windshield may be tinted. We offer shades from a limited 5% up to a PA-legal 70%, in options like 5%, 20%, 35%, 50% and 70%, and keep every install compliant.
What's the difference between carbon and ceramic tint?
Carbon tint is a great-looking, fade-resistant film that blocks UV and adds privacy. Ceramic (nano-ceramic) tint uses ceramic particles to block far more infrared heat while staying optically clear, so it keeps the car cooler without going darker. We offer both.
Does window tint block heat, or just light?
Quality film does both. Our nano-ceramic film rejects up to about 96% of infrared heat and cuts glare by up to 93%, so your interior stays noticeably cooler and easier on the eyes even at legal, lighter shades. Carbon film blocks less IR heat but still rejects up to 99% of UV rays.
Is window tint worth it in winter, or just summer?
Year-round. Beyond summer heat, tint blocks up to 99% of the UV rays that fade upholstery, cuts glare from low winter sun and snow, and adds privacy in any season.
Can you remove old or bubbling tint?
Yes. We remove old, purple or bubbling film and re-tint with fresh, high-quality film for a clean, even result.
How soon can I roll my windows down after tinting?
Wait about three to five days before rolling windows down so the film can cure and adhere fully. You may notice slight haze or small water pockets while it cures; these clear as it dries.
Does Brakeout Auto offer a warranty on tint?
Yes. Our premium films are backed by a lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling and excessive fading. Ask our team for the details on your chosen film.
